The Maritime station Calata Porta di Massa is just 2 minutes away from us.
Once the metro line 1 will be completed by 2020, the location will be even more central as the stop “Duomo” will be right across from the hotel. The metro line 1 is famous worldwide for its artistic stations, such as the renowned “Toledo” station connecting the historical center with some of the most strategic locations in the city such as the Central train station and the Capodichino Airport.
The “Duomo” metro stop will be one of the most impressive artistic stations, designed by the famous architect Massimiliano Fuksas, who defined the station as “a walk among astronauts”. It will be covered by a transparent glass dome, right in the center of Piazza Nicola Amore. Inside the station, passengers will experience a light show representing a day long trip, alternating sunrise, sunset, and night.
The station will also pay tribute to the city’s long history. During the excavation works, an ancient Gymnasium was found, a temple initially created by Augustus for the Olympic games. Passengers will be able to admire this ancient treasure, which shows how Naples is a real open-air museum where history is found everywhere.
